The UH-72A Lakota is a version of the highly successful EC145 twin-engine helicopter, which is in daily use with operators that include paramilitary and security agencies, emergency medical service providers and corporations worldwide.

The IFR-certified UH-72A incorporates an advanced glass cockpit with a VEMD (Vehicle and Engine Management Display) that reduces crew workload. The cockpit is night vision goggle (NVG) compatible.

Extensive application of system modularity and lightweight materials simplifies maintenance and makes the UH-72A exceptionally affordable to operate.

Modular utility systems can be quickly installed to meet demanding mission requirements, including medevac, search and rescue, security support, as well as command and control functions.

The UH-72A's externally-mounted rescue hoist is mounted on a boom and support assembly, which can positioned in an arc of up to 63 degrees from the fuselage centerline for maximum operational flexibility. Supplied by the Goodrich Corporation, this electric hoist can be stowed in the line with the fuselage when not in use.

Accessibility through the UH-72A's rear clamshell doors facilitates its handling of cargo. Useful load capacity of the helicopter is 3,953 lb.

The UH-72A can carry up to 10 persons (nine passengers and one pilot, or eight passengers and two pilots) and accommodates multiple stretchers for medevac missions.
